eLearning, Corporate & Professional Training - Coverage Report Q2 2019

Merger and acquisition (M&A) activity in the eLearning, Corporate & Professional Training industry has been robust in Q1, with 29 transactions announced or closed compared to 20 in Q1 2018.

Online learning, compliance management, and talent management providers have been frequently targeted sectors in the industry. Notably, seven M&A transactions to-date have been online learning platforms and revenue in the global eLearning market is projected to increase at a 19%compound annual growth rate (CAGR) to $11 billion from 2018 to 2025, according to Global Market Research. In the compliance training sector, Adtalem Global Education (NYSE:ATGE) agreed in April to acquire the financial services division of OnCourse Learning for ~$121 million at 3.9x revenue. OnCourse is a leading provider of compliance training, licensure preparation, continuing education, and professional development, and the deal will add more than 1,700 courses to Adtalem’s portfolio. Also in Q1, KPA, a provider of compliance training and human resource management software, acquired workforce compliance automation solutions provider COMPLI.
