The behavioral health industry posted another strong period of transaction volume through August 2015. As strategic buyers continue to show interest in gaining market share and economies of scale through acquisition. Strategic buyers, who were responsible for the majority of the 22 transactions seen thus far in 2015, have been acquisitive in an effort to bolster their bargaining power with larger healthcare organizations as well as to control costs and leverage new technologies.
