Headwaters MB acted as the sole advisor to Solidyn Solutions, a leading national security service provider to the space-based defense and intelligence communities, on its sale to Polaris Alpha, a portfolio company of Arlington Capital Partners. The acquisition enhances Polaris Alpha's expertise in developing C4ISR programs for the U.S Government.
The acquisition formally closed on September 27, 2017. Terms of the acquisition are not being released.
Since its founding in 2004 and with over 90% of its employees holding high level security clearances, Solidyn Solutions has continued to grow its core business in satellite mission management, command and control systems, virtualization and cloud computing, information assurance, and large-scale data processing systems.
"We are extremely excited to become part of the Polaris Alpha team," said Michael Pearson, co-owner, President, Solidyn Solutions. "The acquisition allows us to continue to fulfill our mission of providing high quality engineering talent to our customers, while also expanding our capabilities and reach through Polaris Alpha's network of talent and resources."
“The Headwaters Aerospace and Defense deal team, led by Tess Oxenstierna, provided key insights on the large defense primes and private equity-backed buyers, as well as in-depth C4ISR market analysis. Her team skillfully negotiated every step of the deal process, with professionalism and technical analysis that maximized our valuation and key deal terms. We are delighted with their M&A advisory service – from beginning to end,” underscored Andrew Marshall, co-owner of Solidyn.
Tess Oxenstierna, Managing Director in the Aerospace, Defense and Government group at Headwaters MB, noted, “Solidyn represents the best-in-class entrepreneurial and innovative company serving the national security mission in today’s multi-domain environment. Joining the Polaris Alpha team further enhances their space-based intelligence capabilities to support the warfighter -- we are proud to have helped accomplished their strategic objectives.”
