Headwaters MB Advised PuriCore plc on the Sale of its Supermarket Retail Business to Chemstar Corporation

October 2016

Headwaters MB advised PuriCore plc on the sale of its Supermarket Retail Business, a leading marketer of all-natural solutions used in the supermarket and food service industries for enhancing the quality and freshness of produce and cut flowers, to Chemstar Corporation.

PuriCore’s Supermarket Retail Business, which focuses on enhancing the quality and customer satisfaction of perishable foods, includes Sterilox® generators, Produce Maxx™, and FloraFresh®. These products appear in the fresh perimeter departments of thousands of supermarkets across the US and Canada.

Alex Martin, PuriCore’s CEO, stated “Bill Harrison and his team were great partners and exceeded expectations throughout our process, which resulted in a great outcome for our shareholders. The approach employed in this transaction is worthy of a business school case study on managing and negotiating an M&A sale process.”

Bill Harrison, Head of Consumer Investment Banking at Headwaters added, “PuriCore’s products are used in thousands of supermarkets in North America. This all-natural, organically-recognized and patented solution is highly sought-after by supermarkets seeking to differentiate their fresh produce and floral departments.”
