  • Vice President
(add to contacts)

Since joining Capstone Headwaters in 2016, Anna primarily focuses on executing M&A transactions and capital raises for the mining and geothermal industries, with a specialty in advising mineral extraction from brine resources. She also actively contributes to industry research in battery minerals, oilfield minerals, and energy markets.

Anna brings nearly 8 years’ experience as an intersection of strategic advisory, economic analysis, and equity research covering mineral and geothermal resources, energy technologies, and insurance products.  Prior to joining Capstone Headwaters, Anna was an energy technology analyst at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where she collaborated extensively with industry executives, scientists, and federal government entities to advise on issues of geothermal exploration risk and financing.  Her work at NREL included assessments of DOE grant awardees with pre-commercial technologies for the extraction of minerals from thermal brines.  She has also held roles within the equity research teams at Bloomberg LP and MSCI, structuring scalable models for insurance and commodity pricing risk assessment. Anna began her career at Abt Associates, a contractor to federal offices of the EPA, at which she provided regulatory cost-benefit analysis and strategic advisory covering water quality, chemical hazards, utilities, and renewable energy technologies.  Her interest in geothermal energy and mineral technologies began during her graduate studies on the geochemical feasibility of mineral carbon sequestration, which included fieldwork in Iceland and Oman.

Anna has held numerous speaking engagements on topics related to geothermal exploration, strategy, financing, and mineral recovery. In 2016, she received special recognition by the Geothermal Energy Association for her work with the World Bank to understand the carbon emissions from geothermal resources and power facilities.
